Why Feed Raw?

The most nutrient dense foods are raw foods consumed as close to their natural state as possible.

Natural Raw Goodness for Real Life

Food should be full of goodness with an intent to nourish and the best sources are those with a natural origin.

When you consider health as a holistic concept, the biggest influencer on good health and the one which we have greatest control over, is nutrition.

In the wild, dogs hunt and eat small birds and animals, in their entirety; skin, muscle, organs, bones, hair and fat, all get consumed. Each element brings with it complex nourishing properties to provide essential caloric requirements and vital vitamins and minerals that help dogs to survive. Their natural instincts allow them to soothe digestive concerns through eating grasses, remedy mineral deficiencies by eating earth, clays and sea vegetables and seek out vitamins by scavenging fruits, vegetables, eggs, berries and bugs.

A canine's digestive system is made for eating raw. Their jaws and teeth are designed to tear raw meat and crunch raw bones and get all the raw food goodness into their stomach, a highly acidic environment where digestion begins and is a living biome ready to begin breaking down food, allowing the absorption of nutrients.

Raw feeding mimics the natural, instinctual feeding a dog would revert to if left to their own devices.

By providing all elements of animals, muscle meat, organ meats, skin, bones, hair, fat, trotters, ears, tongue, nose and eyes, your dog is being nourished with the essential nutrients to thrive and they are feeding their primal drive in a highly enriching experience at the same time.

The addition of fruits and vegetables in your dog's diet, have a greater purpose than simply nourishing your dog, they also nourish your dog's gut biome and provide fibre to aid bowel movements. By gently cooking these elements in our BARF range, we are retaining high nutritional properties whilst providing them in the form that is most easily absorbed.
